Recognising the international significance of the tournament and the expected arrival of players, officials, media personnel and spectators from around the world, the Ministry said an integrated security plan has been implemented in coordination with the Sri Lanka Police, the Tri-Forces, intelligence agencies and other key stakeholders.
Security arrangements will cover all match venues, team hotels, training facilities, airports and designated fan zones. Around-the-clock perimeter security, strict access control procedures, vehicle screening points and comprehensive crowd management measures will be enforced throughout the tournament period.
Special security units have been deployed to provide close protection to participating teams, match officials, VIPs and diplomats. Authorities have also strengthened surveillance capabilities through advanced CCTV monitoring systems and real-time intelligence coordination to enhance rapid response measures.
Airspace surveillance has been intensified, while emergency response teams, including medical units, will remain on standby to address any unforeseen situations.
The Ministry assured the public and the international community that all necessary steps have been taken to maintain safety, security and public order while preserving the celebratory spirit of the tournament.
The public, especially spectators, have been urged to cooperate with security personnel, adhere to venue guidelines, maintain order and promptly report any suspicious activities to authorities.
