Speaking from a temple in Bangkok, the Thera said participants will spend a full month engaged in meditation, religious observances, and disciplined monastic life, within a peaceful and scenic environment conducive to spiritual practice.
This will mark the 10th group organised by Venerable Dhammananda Thera for temporary ordination. The group is scheduled to travel to Thailand towards the end of June, with the programme running throughout the Esala month, from late June to late July.
Participants are required to bear only the cost of airfare, while robes, accommodation, meals, and all religious activities during the one-month stay will be provided free of charge. The Thera described the programme as a rare and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience authentic Theravada monastic life.
Those interested in joining the limited number of participants are requested to contact Venerable Avissawella Dhammananda Thera or the Heritage Lanka organisation. All confirmed participants will be required to submit their personal details via a Google Form.
