The Department of Registration of Persons (DRP) has announced special office hours this Saturday (14) at its Head Office and Provincial Offices in Galle, Kurunegala, Vavuniya, Batticaloa, and Nuwara Eliya, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The move aims to assist students who have yet to obtain National Identity Card (NIC) information confirmation letters, which are mandatory to sit for the GCE examinations starting on 17 February 2026.

Students can either collect the letters in person during the extended hours or download them directly from the Department’s official website at www.drp.gov.lk

The Department also reminded school applicants who have not submitted their GCE exam applications to do so promptly, bringing a completed application form along with supporting documents certified by the school Principal or Grama Niladhari.

This initiative is intended to ensure that all candidates are fully prepared and eligible for the upcoming examinations.
