The suspects were arrested by the Welikada Police and produced before court under special security. After considering the submissions made by the police and the defense counsel, the Magistrate ordered that the suspects be remanded until they are presented for an identification parade.
According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred several months ago when a friend of the model’s son was riding a motorcycle through the Rajagiriya area and was involved in a collision with a three-wheeler. It is alleged that following the accident, a group of individuals, including the suspects, arrived at the scene and assaulted the three-wheeler driver.
The injured driver was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment, police informed the court.
The arrests were made following a complaint lodged by the three-wheeler driver with the Welikada Police. Further investigations are ongoing.
