The night fair in Kandy, which had been suspended for several weeks due to the impact of strong winds and adverse weather conditions, is set to recommence under the theme “Let’s Illuminate Kandy City.”

This announcement was made by Central Province Governor Professor S.B.S. Abeykoon at a media briefing held yesterday (10) at the Governor’s Office.

Accordingly, the night fair will be held along Yatinuwara Street on Saturday, February 14, from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.

Although the main activities of the night fair will be centered on Yatinuwara Street, Governor Abeykoon stated that the event is expected to attract both local and foreign visitors, filling the city with crowds. As a result, businesses operating on other streets will also remain open throughout the night, bringing renewed vibrancy and illumination to the city.

Plans are in place to hold the night fair every Saturday moving forward.

The media briefing was attended by Kandy Municipal Council Mayor Chandrasiri Wijenayake, Deputy Mayor Ruwan Galappitiya, Chairman of the Central Province Regional Economic Development Authority Ananda Steven, and representatives of Kandy trade associations, among others.
