Mainly fair weather is expected across the island, except for a few showers in Ampara, Batticaloa, Monaragala, and Hambantota districts.
Tomorrow (12 February 2026):
The prevailing dry weather will change, with showers expected at times in the North-central, Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces, as well as in Hambantota district. Some areas, including Central and Uva provinces and Ampara, Batticaloa, Polonnaruwa, and Hambantota districts, may receive fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm.
The Northern Province will experience several spells of showers, while thundershowers are expected at several other locations after 2:00 p.m., with some areas likely to see heavy falls above 50 mm.
Misty conditions are anticipated during the early morning hours in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, and Uva provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts.
The public is advised to take precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
