The legal action has been initiated over allegations of misappropriation of more than Rs. 16.6 million in government funds. The case, which also names the former President as an accused, was previously taken up before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court on January 28.
Saman Ekanayake, who has been named as the second suspect in the case, surrendered to court through his attorneys and has been remanded in custody until today.
