The meeting was jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Sri Lanka CERT) and the Ministry of Digital Economy. It focused on accelerating the integration process aimed at enhancing the country’s overall cybersecurity framework.

During the discussion, it was emphasized that in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, cybersecurity is no longer merely a technical concern. Instead, it has become a matter of national importance that directly impacts national security, economic stability, and public trust.
Officials highlighted the need for coordinated efforts among state institutions to ensure real-time threat detection, information sharing, and swift response mechanisms. The move to bring major government entities under a unified cybersecurity network is expected to strengthen resilience against cyber threats and safeguard critical national infrastructure.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to build a secure and robust digital ecosystem in Sri Lanka, in line with global cybersecurity standards.
