Illegal drugs have been identified as one of the major social issues faced by the up-country (estate) community. The objective of this initiative is to free the community from this menace through a comprehensive awareness mechanism that brings together all relevant stakeholders, while uplifting them socially and economically.
As part of the program, 62 police officers who actively contributed to raids and operations related to illegal drugs are also scheduled to be commended in recognition of their service.
