The Attorney General on Tuesday informed the Court of Appeal that a letter issued by the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), endorsing projects aimed at promoting and developing LGBTIQ tourism in Sri Lanka, will be withdrawn.

The Attorney General made the submission when a writ petition challenging the legality of the alleged endorsement was taken up before the Court of Appeal.

During the hearing, the Attorney General confirmed that a decision has been taken to withdraw the official communication that had previously granted approval for the said tourism promotion projects.
