India emerged as the leading source market during the month, with 12,439 visitors, accounting for 15.0% of total arrivals. The United Kingdom followed with 9,283 tourists, while Russia contributed 6,946 arrivals. Germany and China also featured prominently, recording 5,401 and 5,037 visitors respectively.

The figures reflect a notable improvement compared to February 2025, when total tourist arrivals stood at 240,217 for the entire month.
Meanwhile, cumulative tourist arrivals for 2026 have risen to 358,103 with the inclusion of the latest February data, highlighting continued momentum in the country’s tourism recovery.
Of the total arrivals in 2026 so far, India remains the largest source market with 65,500 visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 38,823 arrivals and Russia with 34,080 tourists, the SLTDA noted.
Tourism authorities remain optimistic that sustained growth from key markets will further strengthen Sri Lanka’s tourism sector in the months ahead.
