A special all-night Pirith chanting ceremony and a Heel Dana alms-giving were conducted as part of these meritorious activities. A large gathering, including opposition leader Sajith Premadasa ,senior political leaders of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and party supporters, participated in the religious observances.
During the occasion, participants paid homage to the sacred Kiri Vehera Stupa and carried out a Kapruk Pooja around the temple premises, seeking blessings for the nation and its people.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya, established in January 2020, has since been actively engaged in numerous social and political initiatives aimed at uplifting education, healthcare, and the overall quality of life of the people of Sri Lanka. With the intention of continuing these efforts in the future, the party sought blessings from the Most Venerable Maha Sangha through the organization of these religious and charitable activities.
