Four Buddhist monks, including Ven. Balangoda Kassapa Thero, and six other individuals have been further remanded until 11 February 2026 by the Trincomalee Magistrate’s Court.
The suspects were arrested in connection with an incident in which a Buddha statue was placed at the Trincomalee Bodhiraja Vihara on November 16, 2025, allegedly in violation of coastal conservation laws.
