The case filed by the Attorney General against Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his grandmother, Daisy Forrest, over alleged offences under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, was taken up before High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli today and postponed until April 24.
Appearing for the prosecution, State Counsel Oswald Perera informed court that the expert medical report from the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer, who was directed to assess whether the accused Daisy Forrest is mentally fit to participate in the trial, has not yet been received.
Accordingly, the prosecution requested that a new date be fixed after the submission of the medical report, which was accepted by court.
