Police said the confrontation escalated into a violent assault during which the victim was allegedly beaten to death using a cricket bat and wicket stumps.
Six suspects, including four women, were arrested today (07) by the Mount Lavinia Police Crime Branch in connection with the incident.
The victim was identified as a 21-year-old resident of Sri Dharmarama Road, Ratmalana. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
