The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has issued a warning regarding a scam in which money is being collected from the public by falsely claiming to provide foreign employment opportunities through the Ministry.

According to the Ministry, a fake news message has been circulating on social media platforms and WhatsApp groups stating that the Ministry is facilitating overseas jobs and collecting money for that purpose. The Ministry strongly clarified that it does not provide foreign employment opportunities nor does it collect any payments for such services.

The Ministry emphasized that the scheme is a fraudulent operation being carried out by certain individuals or groups misusing the name of the Ministry, and that it has no connection whatsoever to the activity.

Officials further stated that necessary legal action is being initiated in this regard and urged the public, particularly youth, not to fall victim to such scams.

The Ministry also noted that a bank account number, claimed to belong to a Ministry official, is being circulated alongside the false message. The public has been advised not to transfer money to any such accounts. The Ministry added that immediate steps are being taken to investigate the matter.

The Ministry extended its appreciation to media institutions for their continued support and requested that this warning be given priority coverage to help inform the public.
