Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the decisions and judgments delivered within the Supreme Court complex serve as a clear mirror reflecting justice, democracy, and the rule of law in Sri Lanka. She made these remarks while addressing the ceremony held to hand over the refurbished Supreme Court complex for judicial proceedings.

The Prime Minister noted that a strong and independent judiciary is central to public confidence in the legal system. She emphasized that investments in judicial infrastructure are, in essence, investments in public trust, as a secure and efficient environment strengthens the dignity and independence of the judiciary.

Dr. Amarasuriya expressed appreciation for the continued support extended to Sri Lanka by the Government of China, including President Xi Jinping, and stated that the modernized facilities would help meet the public’s expectation that justice will be delivered fairly and equally to all.

The event was attended by Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara, Chief Justice Padman Surasena, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong, Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe, and several judges of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.
