Police deploy 2,100 officers for T20 World Cup security

Sri Lanka Police said that 1,500 police officers and 600 traffic police personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety of local and foreign spectators attending the Twenty20 World Cup matches.

Police have also urged the public to adhere to several security guidelines when entering stadium premises.

Accordingly, spectators are strictly prohibited from bringing large luggage, glass bottles, drone equipment, sharp objects, drugs and alcohol into the stadium.

Police further stated that plainclothes officers and intelligence personnel will also be deployed to strengthen security measures and ensure public safety during the event.
