According to the Ministry of Defence, the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and focused on several matters of mutual importance. Special attention was given to further strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the Maldives, with particular emphasis on enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries.
The Defence Secretary highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the two nations and reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to further expanding defence ties with the Maldives.
Deputy High Commissioner of the Maldivian High Commission, Ms. Fathimath Ghina, was also present at the discussion.
