President Dissanayake to attend India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to represent Sri Lanka at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, 2026. The summit, regarded as the largest of the four global AI summits hosted to date, highlights the growing international focus on responsible, inclusive, and impact-driven artificial intelligence.

Speaking at a recent event, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India, Mahishini Colonné, confirmed that President Dissanayake will join global leaders in attending the summit. She emphasized that his participation reflects Sri Lanka’s strong commitment to digital transformation, technological innovation, and collaboration with India and the wider international community in emerging technologies.

Coinciding with Sri Lanka’s 78th Independence Day celebrations, High Commissioner Colonné noted that the nation takes pride in advancing alongside India and other international partners, fostering friendship, mutual respect, and shared interests.

In a separate event, the exposition of the sacred Devnimori relics of Lord Buddha, brought from Gujarat, India, commenced this morning at Gangaramaya Temple in Hunupitiya, Colombo, attracting devotees and the public alike.
