A delegation from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), led by General Secretary Tilvin Silva, left for New Delhi this morning (February 5) on an official visit to India, party sources said.

The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). In addition to New Delhi, the delegation is scheduled to travel to the Indian states of Gujarat and Kerala, where meetings are planned with the respective Chief Ministers.

The programme also includes visits to institutions engaged in agriculture, industry and technological development.

The delegation comprises Inter-Company Employees’ Union General Secretary Janaka Adhikari, Members of Parliament Karunananthan Elankumaran and Kittinan Selvarajah, JVP media unit member Hemathilaka Gamage, and Attorney-at-Law Kalpana Madhubhashini, a member of the party’s International Committee.
