The Constitutional Council is scheduled to meet today to reach a final decision on the appointment of a new Auditor General.
The meeting will be chaired by the Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.
The decision follows a previous meeting held last Friday, during which the Council deliberated on the appointment but was unable to arrive at a definitive conclusion. Today’s session is expected to focus on finalising the selection after further consideration of the matter.
