Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya participated in the South Asia Regional Conference of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC) 2026, held on February 2 at Cinnamon Life, Colombo.
The conference, hosted by the Association of Consuls in Sri Lanka together with the World Federation of Consuls, is taking place from February 1 to 4, bringing together diplomats, business leaders, and policymakers from across South Asia to promote regional cooperation and sustainable development.
Addressing the conference, the Prime Minister said Sri Lanka’s selection as the host country was significant as the Government continues to work closely with international partners to strengthen the country’s standing as a credible and reliable regional partner.
She highlighted Sri Lanka’s exposure to climate-related risks, referring to the recent impact of Cyclone Ditwah, and underscored the importance of global cooperation and shared responsibility in addressing climate change.
The Prime Minister also outlined ongoing reforms aimed at improving public sector efficiency, transparency, and accountability, while advancing digital governance to enhance public service delivery and public trust.
