Students directly affected by recent natural disasters will be granted an extended period to submit Suraksha Sisu Insurance claims and supporting documents, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited announced.
In addition to the standard 90-day claim submission period, an extra 60 days will be allowed, extending the total deadline to 150 days for applicants who were unable to meet timelines between November 1 and December 31, 2025 due to disaster-related disruptions.
Officials noted that where delays cannot be clearly verified through submitted documents, claimants may be required to provide a confirmation letter from the school principal or the relevant Grama Niladhari to support their application.
