School Development Officers have announced that they will stage a massive protest in front of the Presidential Secretariat today (2), further intensifying their ongoing hunger strike demanding integration into the teaching service.
Meanwhile, another development officer who has been on hunger strike for seven days was hospitalized a short while ago, according to protest organizers.
The hunger strike, which began in front of the Presidential Secretariat, is being carried out by school development officers who have been engaged in teaching duties in schools for more than six years. The protest entered its seventh day today, amid assurances that they will be granted a discussion with the President next Tuesday.
The officers continue to demand immediate integration into the teaching service, citing prolonged delays in addressing their grievances.
