Two suspects have been arrested by the Western Province Southern District Crime Division in connection with two separate shooting incidents reported in the Dehiwala and Kohuwala police divisions.
Police said the arrests relate to the shooting of a hotel owner in the Dehiwala Police Division on December 9, as well as the shooting of a person travelling in a three-wheeler in the Bodhiyawatta area of the Kohuwala Police Division on December 12 last year.
Investigations revealed that the suspects had aided and abetted both crimes. During the arrest, officers also seized 14 grams and 730 milligrams of the drug “Ice” in the possession of the suspects.
The arrested individuals are 18-year-old residents of Boralgamuwa and Mount Lavinia.
Police further revealed that the suspects had acted under the direction of an organised criminal and drug trafficker currently living overseas.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Western Province Southern District Crime Division.
