Eight senior police officers transferred

Eight senior police officers have been transferred with immediate effect, subject to the approval of the National Police Commission, police said.

The transfers include two Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs), five Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and one Superintendent of Police (SP).

Accordingly, DIG E.M.G.J. Seram has been appointed as the DIG in charge of the Recruitment and Training Directorate, having previously served in the Galle District. DIG H.C.A. Pushpakumara has been transferred and appointed as the DIG in charge of the Galle District.

Among the Senior Superintendents of Police, SSP T.H.E.L. Perera, who was in charge of the Gampola Division, has been transferred to the Colombo North Division. SSP K.N. Gunawardena has been moved from the Monaragala Division to Police Headquarters, while SSP B.A.R. Pushpakumara has been appointed Director of the Special Airport Division after serving in the Colombo North Division.

SSP K.A. Udaya Kumara, who served as Director of the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit, has been transferred as the Officer-in-Charge of the Kalutara Division. In addition, W.M.S.B. Wickramasinghe, who was Additional Director of Headquarters Administration at Police Headquarters, has been appointed as the SSP in charge of the Monaragala Division.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police P.D. Illangakoon, who was serving in Kandy, has been transferred to the Gampola Division.
