The price of gold in the world market surged to a record high today (29), according to foreign reports.
For the first time in history, the price of an ounce of gold crossed the US$5,500 mark, climbing to US$5,579.
This is the highest level recorded so far. Media reports further noted that prices briefly touched US$5,600 during trading.
