The lorry driver and his assistant sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the Dambulla General Hospital. Police also confirmed that the patient being transported in the ambulance, the ambulance driver, and a female staff member were injured in the incident and are receiving hospital treatment.
According to Habarana Police, preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred due to negligent driving by the lorry driver. Further investigations are ongoing.
