According to the VINnews website, the ongoing unrest in the Middle East has temporarily grounded several European airlines operating flights to airports in the region.

Airlines across Europe have begun suspending flights to Israel and other parts of the Middle East. Among those that have announced cancellations and service suspensions are Air France, British Airways, and KLM.

Air France confirmed that it has cancelled flights to Tel Aviv and Dubai, citing the evolving security situation in the region. The airline has not yet indicated when these services are expected to resume.

British Airways announced that it has suspended its evening service to Dubai, while closely monitoring developments and reviewing additional routes as necessary.

Meanwhile, KLM stated that it has suspended flights to Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, becoming one of the first major European airlines to halt services to several Middle Eastern destinations.

Airlines have cited security conditions and airspace-related concerns as the main reasons for these suspensions. Industry officials have indicated that flight cancellations are expected to increase gradually as restrictions are reassessed. Passengers are therefore advised to check directly with their respective airlines regarding onward travel and rebooking options.

However, flights operated by Flydubai, Etihad Airways, and Air India, which are commonly used by passengers travelling between Sri Lanka and Israel, are currently operating as normal.

All such flights are arriving at and departing from Tel Aviv Airport as scheduled. Nevertheless, passengers travelling to Sri Lanka from Israel, as well as those intending to travel from Sri Lanka to Israel, are advised to reconfirm their flight details with the relevant airlines prior to proceeding to the airport.
