Organized crime suspect extradited from India to Sri Lanka

A suspected organized criminal who had been living overseas while under an international red notice was brought back to Sri Lanka by air from India this afternoon (24).

Following his arrival, the suspect was taken into custody by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake. He is to be handed over to the Keselwatte Police for further investigations.

Police said the suspect is a 34-year-old resident of the Keselwatte area. He is wanted in connection with several serious offences, including murder, robbery, and possession of narcotics.

Further investigations into the suspect are being conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Colombo range.
