Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya held a series of meetings with members of the Swiss business community as well as Sri Lankan business leaders and professionals based in Switzerland, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
The discussions focused on strengthening partnerships, building confidence, and identifying practical avenues for collaboration to support Sri Lanka’s economic recovery and long-term development.
Addressing Sri Lankan business and professional representatives in Switzerland, the Prime Minister underscored their vital role in promoting business linkages, facilitating investment opportunities, expanding market access, mentoring entrepreneurs, and enhancing Sri Lanka’s engagement with global business networks.
In meetings with Swiss business leaders, the Prime Minister outlined Sri Lanka’s current economic trajectory, reform priorities, and key investment sectors. She emphasised the government’s commitment to economic stability, predictable policy frameworks, and governance reforms aimed at restoring investor confidence.
The engagements explored potential collaboration in areas including services-sector growth, capital markets, financial technology, and other priority sectors. Discussions also highlighted the importance of translating dialogue into tangible outcomes such as increased investor interest, sector-specific partnerships, and long-term cooperation.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to sustained economic recovery driven by reforms, stability, and strong international partnerships, while welcoming continued engagement with Swiss and Sri Lankan business stakeholders.
