Vehicle registrations in the country recorded a notable increase in December 2025, with 48,525 vehicles registered during the month, compared to 43,810 registrations in November.
With this increase, the total number of vehicles registered has reached 360,117 in the first year following the reopening of vehicle imports after a five-year hiatus, reflecting a significant rebound in the sector.
Of the cars registered in December, 1,150 were new vehicles, up from 781 new car registrations recorded in November. Among these, BYD electric vehicles accounted for the highest number of new car registrations, with 408 units, followed by 283 BAW vehicles.
Electric vehicle registrations stood at 3,220 units in December, slightly higher than the 3,158 electric vehicles registered in November. However, analysts note that the marginal growth suggests that the initial surge of interest in electric vehicles may now be easing.
Meanwhile, three-wheeler registrations totaled 3,007 units during the month. Motorcycle registrations also increased, with 30,415 motorcycles registered in December, compared to 29,961 units in November.
The latest figures indicate continued growth in overall vehicle registrations toward the end of 2025, despite signs of stabilization in demand for electric vehicles.
