Another suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting incident in Jinthupitiya that resulted in the death of a man and injuries to two children, police said.
The suspect was taken into custody yesterday (22) in the 95 Wattha area of the Coastal Region. At the time of arrest, police recovered 24 grams and 300 milligrams of the drug Ice from his possession. He was arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the crime.
According to police, the suspect is a 24-year-old resident of Colombo 13.
He is scheduled to be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today (23), while the Coastal Region Police continue further investigations into the incident.
