The meeting focused on reviewing the progress made by the Special Investigation Unit in strengthening people-centered law enforcement and protecting the rights of migrant workers and their families.
During the discussion, officials highlighted the achievements recorded from January to December 2025. A total of 4,822 public complaints were received during this period, out of which 2,914 complaints were successfully resolved through investigations.
In addition, 772 legal cases were filed in courts, and 121 individuals were arrested following investigations.
The officers also reported that 21 raids were conducted against illegal recruitment activities. As a result of these operations, more than Rs. 380 million was recovered and returned to affected complainants.
The Deputy Minister commended the Special Investigation Unit for its efforts in safeguarding migrant workers and ensuring justice for victims of foreign employment-related fraud.
