Sri Lanka delegation arrives in Switzerland for World Economic Forum 2026

Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, along with a delegation, arrived in Switzerland to participate in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos-Klosters.

The Sri Lankan delegation was warmly received at the Zurich International Airport by Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Himalee Arunatilaka.

The World Economic Forum 2026 commenced on January 19 under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue” and will continue for five days until January 23.

More than 3,000 global leaders, including heads of state, chief executive officers of multinational corporations, policymakers, and technology innovators, are taking part in this prestigious international gathering.

During the visit, Prime Minister Amarasuriya is scheduled to hold a series of high-level bilateral discussions with international leaders, heads of global institutions, and other distinguished participants, focusing on strengthening Sri Lanka’s international partnerships and economic cooperation.
