The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has announced plans to send 1,000 Sri Lankan nurses to Israel next year, offering home-based nursing positions with a monthly salary exceeding Rs. 600,000.
Eligible applicants include those who have completed a nursing training course at the Bureau or a registered institution, hold an NVQ III certificate, or have at least 11 months of nursing experience. Candidates must be between 25 and 45 years old and have sat for the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination. Those who have completed the Bureau’s English course and possess strong English skills are also eligible.
Selected nurses will receive a five-year visa, providing long-term employment opportunities abroad. Recruitment is conducted under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Governments of Sri Lanka and Israel, which has already enabled 2,656 Sri Lankans to qualify for nursing jobs in Israel, with 107 professionals sent in the first two weeks of 2026 alone.
The SLBFE, in collaboration with the Population and Immigration Services Authority (PIBA) and the Israeli Government, cautioned applicants not to deal with any external agents or pay money, as these jobs are only available through official channels.
