Thailand donates LKR 10.2 million for Sri Lanka’s post-cyclone recovery

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has expressed appreciation to the Royal Thai Government for its assistance towards Sri Lanka’s post-disaster recovery efforts following Cyclone “Ditwah”.

The Minister said he was pleased to meet the Ambassador of Thailand this evening, during which the envoy formally handed over a contribution of LKR 10.2 million on behalf of the Royal Thai Government to support Sri Lanka’s reconstruction programme.

Minister Herath conveyed his sincere gratitude for the gesture, noting that the assistance reflects Thailand’s solidarity with Sri Lanka during a time of need. He added that the contribution further strengthens the longstanding friendship and close diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The funds will be utilised as part of Sri Lanka’s ongoing reconstruction and recovery initiatives in areas affected by Cyclone “Ditwah”.
