Neville Wanniarachchi case summoned to Colombo Court

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today ordered that the case filed against Neville Wanniarachchi, former security chief to ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa, be summoned on June 9. Wanniarachchi is under investigation for allegedly acquiring assets worth over Rs. 28 million illegally.

The suspect appeared before the court when the case was called.

The Bribery Commission informed the court that its investigation into the complaint is ongoing and requested a date to provide an update on the progress of the probe.

The court instructed the Bribery Commission to report on the progress of its investigation when the case is summoned on June 9.
