Consumers are set to benefit from a drop in milk powder prices, which has prompted restaurant and bar owners to reduce the price of milk tea.
The All Ceylon Restaurant and Bar Owners Association announced that the price of a cup of milk tea will be lowered by Rs.10 from today (16).
Association President Harsha Rukshan said the decision follows the reduction in imported milk powder prices, which now cost Rs.125 less per kilogram. The price of a 400-gram packet has also been reduced by Rs.50, according to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development.
“This price adjustment allows us to pass the savings directly to customers,” Mr. Rukshan added, noting that the move is aimed at easing the cost of living for the public.
The reduction comes as part of broader efforts to reflect changes in raw material costs and support consumers amid fluctuating market prices.
