The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has decided to deploy a fact-finding mission to Sri Lanka from January 22 to January 28 to assess the damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

MF Communications Director Julie Kozack said the team will evaluate the economic impact of the cyclone and review the situation on the ground.

She also noted that the mission will hold discussions on policy implications related to Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme.

The visit aims to support Sri Lanka’s recovery efforts while ensuring continued progress under the IMF-backed reform programme.
