The Gampaha High Court is scheduled to deliver its verdict today (14) in the case involving 41 defendants charged in connection with the assault and killing of Member of Parliament Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security officer.
The judgment will be delivered by a three-judge bench comprising High Court Judges Sahan Mapa Bandara, Rashmi Singappuli, and Rasantha Godawela.
The case was filed by the Attorney General following the deaths of the Polonnaruwa District MP and his security officer in Nittambuwa during the “Aragalaya” protests in May 2022.
