Sri Lankan businessman Dudley Sirisena’s recent purchase of a rare Rolls-Royce Phantom Centenary Edition has sparked widespread public interest, not only due to the vehicle’s rarity but also for the message on entrepreneurship he shared alongside it.

The Phantom Centenary Edition is one of just 25 vehicles produced worldwide to mark the 100th anniversary of the Rolls-Royce brand. Sirisena revealed details of the exclusive model through a social media post, describing it as a specially upgraded edition created to celebrate the luxury carmaker’s centenary.

Rather than highlighting luxury alone, Sirisena used the occasion to reflect on his personal journey in business. He recalled starting nearly four decades ago with limited financial means, purchasing his first lorry after pawning his wife’s jewellery.

He said the milestone symbolises years of hard work, sacrifice and determination, and credited those who supported him throughout his journey. Sirisena also noted that the achievement is a point of pride for his hometown of Polonnaruwa and for Sri Lanka.

Using the moment to inspire others, he encouraged young entrepreneurs to remain patient and resilient, stressing that long-term commitment and perseverance are essential for success.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Centenary Edition is considered one of the most exclusive models in the Phantom range, combining bespoke design features with the heritage of the British luxury brand.
