A special conference and discussion on this issue was held in Colombo yesterday (13).
The event, themed “What is Black January in 2026?”, was organized in remembrance of media personnel who lost their lives or faced severe human rights violations. It took place at the National Library Auditorium in Colombo.
The programme was organized by the Janabala Organisation and brought together social activists, journalists, and civil society representatives.
Under the title “Remembrance for Justice for Journalists,” several speakers shared their views, highlighting the importance of protecting media freedom and ensuring justice for victims of violence against journalists.
