The Colombo High Court has ordered the re-calling of a case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, alleging that he caused losses to the government by purchasing vehicles on a lease basis for the National Lottery Board during his tenure as Chairman of the institution.

The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal today (13).

Counsel appearing for the defence informed court that another case of a similar nature involving the same accused is scheduled to be taken up on January 26, and requested that this case also be fixed for the same date.

After considering the submissions, the judge ordered that the case be recalled on January 26.
