Reflecting this international trend, gold prices in Sri Lanka increased by Rs. 3,000 today (12).
As a result, the price of a sovereign of 22-carat gold has risen to Rs. 337,600, while 24-carat gold is now priced at Rs. 365,000.
Market analysts say the surge is driven by global economic uncertainty, investor demand for safe-haven assets, and fluctuations in currency markets.
