Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Member of Parliament Prasad Siriwardena has been summoned by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to provide a statement regarding comments he made during a television programme.
The MP stated that he has been instructed to appear before the CID at 10.00 a.m. on Monday (12). The summons is reportedly linked to remarks he made on Hiru TV’s *Salakuna* programme concerning the government’s proposed new education reforms.
Commenting on the matter, Siriwardena said he was merely expressing his views on the condition of the government elected by the people. “I like to tell the people about the state of the government they elected. This has become a puppet government,” he said.
