Five people were injured in a road accident that occurred on the A9 main road in Mihintale early this morning (10).
According to reports, the accident took place when a van carrying a group of youths returning home after watching the second Sri Lanka–Pakistan T20 cricket match at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium met with an accident.
The injured were initially admitted to the Mihintale District Hospital and were later transferred to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for further treatment, hospital sources said.
The Mihintale Police have launched further investigations into the incident.
