Sri Lanka Expo 2026 officially launched in Colombo

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), under the guidance of the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, officially launched the “Sri Lanka Expo 2026” international exhibition today (09) in Colombo.

The event was held under the patronage of Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunnetti.

Sri Lanka Expo 2026 is scheduled to take place from June 18 to 21, 2026, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo. This will be the first Sri Lanka Expo held in 14 years, following the last edition in 2012.

The exhibition aims to serve as a global trade platform to showcase Sri Lanka’s export potential, industries, products, services, and investment opportunities to the international business community.

Speaking at the launch, EDB Chairman Mangala Wijesinghe stated that Sri Lanka Expo 2026 will play a key role in boosting exports and attracting foreign investment by leveraging the country’s strategic location. He added that the initiative will support Sri Lanka’s national goal of achieving USD 36 billion in export earnings by 2030.

The exhibition will represent three main sectors:

Industrial, Agricultural, and Export Services, covering 24 key industry segments, including:

Apparel, textiles, and fashion

Gems and jewellery

Boat building

Engineering and automotive components

Rubber and polymer products

Electrical and electronic goods

Handicrafts

Pharmaceuticals

Mineral-based products

Tea, spices, and coconut-based products

Fisheries, processed food, and beverages

Ayurveda and herbal products

Cut flowers and foliage

Ornamental fish

Fruits and vegetables

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Business Process Management (BPM)

Marine and offshore services

Logistics

Construction

Renewable energy

Wellness and healthcare services

Sri Lanka Expo 2026 is expected to strengthen the country’s global trade presence, create new business opportunities, and contribute significantly to economic growth.
