The Wattala Magistrate’s Court has ordered former Minister Johnston Fernando, his two sons, and three other suspects, arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) in connection with the misuse of a Sathosa lorry, to be remanded until January 23.
Lawyers representing Johnston Fernando had requested bail for their client, but the Magistrate rejected the application, ordering all suspects to remain in custody.
Additionally, the Court dismissed a separate request from the defense seeking to have the suspects discharged from the charges.
